Ninja

This physical game is a fun game to play with all ages, though at first the rules can be a little confusing, so leaders should judge whether it is suitable. When working with a group of young people, Ninja makes a particularly good ice breaker. It particularly fun to play, especially with a large group of people, though it can be played with as few as 2.

How to Play

To begin play, players should form a circle, and play should continue around the circle, after the first player makes their move.

The game requires players to take turns to perform a single motion, in an attempt to hit another players arm.

The player being assaulted may perform one single motion to avoid the attack from the other player

Once a players arm is hit, that arm is removed from play and placed being the player's back. If a player has both arms hit, they are out, and play continues with the remaining players.

Ninja is a good game for helping to develop a person's reaction time, and it makes a great icebreaker. It is a game known to a large number of people, and as such there are variations in the name, for instance, some call it 'Ninja Destruction'. A visual example of how to play can be seen in the video above.
